4 year old Curriculum

Gross Motor: Jumping, Running, Galloping, Climbing, Hopping, Skipping, Balancing, Catching, & Throwing.

Self Help: Hand Washing, Helping with Snack, Putting Toys Away, and Zipping and Buttoning.
Social-Emotional: Sharing, feelings and cooperation.

Daily Routine

  • 9:00-9:10 Arrival/Opening
  • 9:10-9:35 Calendar Large Group activity/story
  • 9:35-10:35 Centers
  • 10:35-10:45 Clean-Up
  • 10:45 - 11:20 Snack / Clean up / Story
  • 11:20 - 11:50 Outside Play
  • 11:50 Dismissal
Science: Exploring, Observing, Predicting and Classifying
Fine Motor: Puzzles, Sewing/Stringing, Manipulative Toys, Painting, Modeling with clay and playdough, and Tracing/mazes.
Reading Readiness : Singing songs, reading books, dictating stories, describing pictures, rhyming words and distinguishing sounds.
Math: Comparing size differences, classifying objects, recognizing shapes, one-to-one correspondence, and graphing
Music: Listening/ fast and slow, treble/bass, movement, repeating and imaging.
The 4 year old classes also participate in Gymnastics and Dramatic Activities weekly

The above skills are interwoven into the following unit studies throughout the year. Keep in mind that these unit studies are flexible units and are subject to change.
